Even after you have updated the credit report you may find that some information may not have been cleared up. Why? Well as stated before there are Only 3 main Bureaus but there are thousands of credit agencies and companies. This may be confusing but we will try to clear it up. The main companies that hold credit information on consumers are:
Transunion TU, - (800)-916-8800.TransUnion
Post Office Box 2000 Chester, PA 19022
Equifax Information Services LLC (800) 685-1111 P.O. Box 740241 Atlanta, GA 30374
Experian EX,- (888) 397 3742 475 Anton Blvd. Costa Mesa, CA 92626 714 830 7000 Experian 955 American Lane Schaumburg, IL 60173 847 517 5600
These Companies compute a "Credit Score" for most borrowers. They use a computation program that is inherent to each company therefore they rarely produce the same or even similar credit scores. The agencies that are out there actually work with the consumer and companies to gather and distribute information to these main bureaus and the credit granters. Mostly like a clearing house in the middle.
The credit score is what has started to become the main source that credit granters use in determining a borrowers ability to repay a debt.
There is no credit score range set across the board for determining if the risk is guaranteed but a general guideline is as followed : scores below 600 seem to be higher risk, scores 601- 620 positive but still risky, 620 to 680 range is the standard, 681- 719 very good credit, 720- higher excellent. Credit scores donot usually go above 815.
If you score is low you need to clean up the errors, and amounts owed, the score will begin to "heal" as time passes and you establish a positive credit history. Regardless of what you think you credit history is like you need to check to make sure that it is clear because many people/companies contact credit agency and there really is no way to make sure they didn't make a mistake in reporting your history unless YOU check it.
